- Plan and sell transportation and accommodations for customers
- Determine destination, modes of transportation, travel dates, costs, and accommodations required
- Describe, plan, and arrange itineraries
- Sell tour packages

- Provide travel advice and recommendations to clients
AI & the future of this role
While AI can handle routine bookings and itinerary planning, human travel agents still excel in handling complex, personalized requests and resolving unforeseen travel issues, which require empathy and problem-solving. However, most transactional tasks are highly automatable.
