Printing Press Operators manage and operate various printing machines to produce high-quality printed materials, from books and packaging to marketing collateral. This role ensures the smooth production of printed goods, directly supporting communication, education, and commerce by transforming ideas into tangible products. Daily tasks include setting up presses, monitoring print quality, adjusting machine settings, and troubleshooting minor issues to maintain efficiency. What you might do
- Set up printing machines according to job specifications
- Operate digital, letterpress, lithographic, or other printing presses

AI & the future of this role
While some aspects of printing press operation can be automated (e.g., machine setup and monitoring), tasks requiring manual adjustments, troubleshooting, and quality control still rely on human judgment. However, advancements in AI-driven robotics could replace most of these functions in the near future.
