Merchandise gets checked so it is priced, displayed, and working as advertised; service is watched; and staff are shown how to handle difficult sales. Purchase, sales, and requisition records are kept, and some jobs add buying, budgets, or personnel tasks. The setting is a store or department, in constant contact with both employees and customers. It suits people who like supervising a team while still doing the same hands-on retail work and tracking sales and service.
