The Short Version
You can use LostInCareer without an account. We don't ask for your name or email, and the answers we keep are not linked to an account or to who you are.
We never sell your data. LostInCareer is a free service that isn't run for profit.
What We Don't Ask For
No account, no email address, no name. Nothing in the assessment asks who you are.
The one place you can type freely is the name and optional description of an assessment. These are saved along with your answers, so it's best to leave your own name and contact details out of them.
What Is Saved
Your assessment answers (values, interests, skills, past jobs, and education) and the results built from them. This lets you pause and come back, and lets us show your matches and insights.
On Your Device
Your progress is saved in your browser so you can resume where you left off. If you clear your site data, that copy is removed.
Sharing your results is optional. A share link contains a snapshot of your results, so anyone you send it to can read it.
Where AI Is Used
AI plays a limited part. Your values profile, your interest and skill scores, and most of your career suggestions are calculated by our own algorithm.
A third-party AI service helps with two things: a few extra career suggestions and the written insights. To do that, a summary of your answers is sent to it. No account or contact details are included. We don't use your answers to train our own model.
A Copy on Our Server
When you complete an assessment, a copy of your answers and results is also stored on our server to help us keep the service running and improve it. It isn't linked to an account or a name, and we can access it. Demo assessments are not stored.
Cookies and Tracking
LostInCareer does not use tracking cookies. We do not employ third-party advertising networks or analytics services that track your behavior across the web. We may use essential cookies solely for the basic functionality of the website, which do not store any personal information.
