The work is covering someone else's classroom for a day or a short stretch, usually by following the regular teacher's lesson plan rather than writing a new one. You take attendance, answer questions, hand out or collect assignments, and keep order so the class can still function. Outside the room, you may watch students at recess, lunch, or on field trips. Some days include helping a few students one-on-one or practicing social skills such as how to talk through a conflict. The job suits people who can walk into an unfamiliar room, listen closely, and hold a steady routine until the regular teacher returns.
