Patients and families are interviewed to pin down problems with care, then pointed toward the right services or community resources. Policies, procedures, and available help are explained in everyday terms, and communication is coordinated among patients, medical staff, administrators, and sometimes regulators. Complaints and questions are investigated, sent to the right staff, and followed until they are resolved. Newsletters, brochures, or other printed materials may be written and shared, and reading current literature is part of staying informed. Fits people who like careful listening, explaining rules in plain language, and staying with a complaint until it is closed.
