Tests such as EEGs, sleep studies, nerve conduction studies, and evoked potentials are set up and recorded, sometimes during surgery. Poor electrode contact, patient movement, and other artifacts are marked on the tracing, and settings are programmed for the nerves or brain areas being studied.
