The work is installing and servicing automatic, hydraulic, and garage doors, often on site. You carry springs up ladders or scaffolding, wind them, and attach them to tracks; fasten angle iron back-hangers to ceilings and tracks with fasteners or welding equipment; and set frames, rails, steel rolling curtains, electronic-eye mechanisms, and electric openers. Adjustments make a door open and close with the right amount of effort. Worn parts come off with hand tools, then you fill out the work order and collect payment. It suits people who like physical, on-site installation, careful spring and track work, and finishing a job including the paperwork.
