After assessing vision, mobility, and daily-life function, a training plan is built around the client's own goals. Much of the work is teaching travel: cane techniques (diagonal, two-point touch, walking with a guide), choosing and practicing with devices such as long canes, dog guides, or electronic travel aids, and using sound, touch, and other senses to stay oriented. Sessions use real or simulated routes so clients can move around on their own. Reports document assessment, training, and follow-up. The work fits those who prefer step-by-step, hands-on teaching and solving practical travel problems with clients.
