The work includes directing allocation of goods, reviewing logistics performance against service agreements, and redesigning the movement of goods to cut cost. A large share of the job is managing subcontractors, writing proposals with cost estimates, and explaining plans in writing and in meetings. Customer contact is ongoing: learning what they need and keeping working relationships in good order. The work tends to fit people who like tracking performance, solving movement problems, and dealing with both figures and people.
