Construction and Extraction
Mortar, plaster, and grout are mixed by hand or machine, then brick, block, stone, or tile is cut to size with saws or cutters. Materials and tools get moved to the job and laid out in the order the mason will use them, following drawings or numbered sequences. The same person may help prepare, install, or repair tile, brick, or stone surfaces, put up scaffolding, and keep the site and equipment in order.
